Hiroe Saeki (b. 1978, Osaka) graduated from Kyoto Seika University in 2001. Since 2012 she has been based in Europe and currently lives and works between Berlin and Marseille. Her work has been included in many prominent group exhibitions to highlight artists from Japan. More recently, her work has been shown beyond Europe in India and the Middle East. Saeki is a recipient of Grants for Overseas Study by Young Artists (POLA Art Foundation, 2014), Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists (Agency for Cultural Affairs, 2012), Art Scope: Artist-in-Residence in Berlin (Daimler Foundation in Japan, 2010) and the VOCA Encouragement Prize in 2006.
